Brian the Monster is a series of nine illustrations starring Brian. He started off as a brain fog monster, but ended up wearing multiple hats and being skilled in different trades. While creating this delightfully sad creature, I was dealing with my own mental health struggles (specifically anxiety and depression).

 

Brian helped me navigate through my own feelings. As you look at each individual illustration, you can see Brian becoming his own ‘monster’ and living his life like it was intended to. He starts to see hope at the end of the tunnel. The illustrations are not in any particular order. I intentionally ended on a positive note, but healing isn’t linear.
